CLEARWATER COMPLETES RESTORATION OF WEST VIRGINIA'S OLDEST STONE ARCH BRIDGE
Clearwater Construction recently completed the renovation of West Virginia's oldest Stone Arch Bridge in Wheeling.
The Clearwater Crew has completed work on the multimillion-dollar restoration of the Monument Place Bridge in Elm Grove, and although the surface will appear new to motorists, the stone structure supporting remains a true piece of West Virginia history.
The scope of Clearwater’s renovation work included removal of existing sidewalks, removal of pavement surface and material within the bridge structure and repairing the stones along the spandrel walls and the arch barrels themselves. Our team then backfilled it and repaved the bridge and reconstructed the concrete sidewalks and railings.
Our team is proud of the work completed to bring this incredible bridge back to life so motorists and community members can enjoy it for another 200 years.
