R. J. CORMAN TRAIL RAIL BRIDGE

This project included the replacement of a deteriorated 3-span bridge with a new single span structure over the Ghost Town Bike Trail, which is the former RJ Corman RR Rail bed.

It involved advanced demolition techniques, as well as complex temporary support systems in order to safely and successfully complete the project.

Utilizing phased construction in a utility-congested, high-traffic urban area, Clearwater made accommodations for the safety of local foot traffic by constructing an overhead pedestrian bridge. Also, usage of the trail was not interrupted during construction, as Clearwater built safety tunnels under the bridge for protection of users.
