POCONO LAKE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
This project included the replacement of a decaying two-span bridge over Pocono Lake Preserve. Due to a NASCAR event at the Pocono Raceway, the Phase 1 completion date was of paramount importance.
The original plans called for the construction of a causeway for the demolition of the pier. In order to expedite this process, Clearwater devised an innovative alternative that involved cutting the pier with a wire saw and removing the sections. H-piles and pipe piles were installed, and integral abutments were constructed on the pile caps. 102’ bulb-tee beams supported a 40’ curb-to-curb concrete deck with a concrete parapet.
This project was a P3 Project in partnership with Walsh/Granite Construction.
