COLD SPRINGS CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Clearwater was awarded this $3.4M contract for the removal and replacement of an existing structure over Cold Springs Creek in Whitehall Township by PennDOT.
This project began with the demolition of an existing 5 span, open-spandrel reinforced concrete arch structure and the installation of 4 temporary shoring systems. Clearwater then constructed a new bridge that consisted of a three-span, pre-stressed bulb tee structure, new piers and abutments, new approach roadways, barriers and guiderail.
Clearwater’s scope also included maintenance of several underground utilities during construction.
Crews worked through the voluntary winter shutdown on the four new substructure units, which resulted in the project being completed over 3 months early.
